Miami, Florida is the ultimate cool kid spot, founded by Julia Tuttle in 1896. It was originally named after a Native American tribe Mayaimis, who lived in the area in the 17th or 18th century. Suntan lotion was invented in Miami Beach by a pharmacist in 1944. Miami is the only city in the USA that is bordered by two National Parks; Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park. Key West, Florida is the best mix of part spot and relaxing island vibes. Ponce de Leon was the first European to visit Key West in 1521. During the 1830’s the trade routes near the Keys resulted in as many as one shipwreck per week. Many residents refer to themselves as Conchs. Pan AM was founded in Key West in 1927 and flew mail between Cuba and the United States. Ernest Hemingway has a house in Key West and all of the cats have 6 toes. Universal’s Islands of Adventures Hogwarts Castle lit up for the holidays

Orlando, Florida is the most visited destination in the world. Lake Eola in downtown Orland, is 80 feet deep and is actually a giant sinkhole. The opening scene in Lethal Weapon 3 is actually city hall being demolished, it was funded by the movie. Walt Disney World in Orlando is filled with underground tunnels. Universal Studios is my favorite place on earth, and the Three Broomsticks is the only place to get a hot butterbeer (add a shot if you are 21+, trust me!) Cape Coral, Florida is the largest city between Tampa and Miami. It is known as the “Waterfront Wonderland” as it has over 400 miles of canals, more than any other city in the world. It was founded in 1957, when two brothers Leonard and Jack Rosen with a small group of partners purchased 103 square mile tract of land and began building a pre-planned community. Pine Island, Florida is the largest island off the southwest coast of Florida, even though it is only 17 miles long and 2 miles wide. (samesies Manhattan) Pine Island is only 30 minutes from Fort Myers, but it is the perfect refuge for fishing and spending time in nature. Pine Island has no traffic lights, only a 4-way stop sign. The waterfall at Rainbow Springs is so cute and uses water from the spring

Rainbow Springs, Florida has a long history, there is evidence that people have lived in the area for at least 10,000 years. During the 1930’s Rainbow Springs was a private theme park, with waterfalls and a reptile exhibit. In the 1960’s Rainbow Springs was it’s most popular with Glass Bottom Boats, a rodeo and a lead shaped tree top gondolas. Ocala, Florida is home to Silver Springs State Park, stretching the entire Silver River and 4,00 acres surrounding it. The Silver River is the perfect place to rent a clear bottom kayak, and see what you can see under the water. The Springs have the largest water flow in the world of any natural spring. The remains of mastodons and extinct elephants have been found in the River. Ocala has horse statues placed all over the city, to recognize the horses bred and winners of the Triple Crown; Affirmed in 1978 and American Pharoah in 2015. Daytona Beach, Florida is world famous and for good reason, it is so incredibly gorgeous! If you have 4-wheel drive you can drive right onto the beach, which is 23 miles of gorgeous coastline. Go behind the scenes with the Daytona International Speedway tour, or really get into the racecar spirit and go to race day! The Daytona Beach Boardwalk and Pier are so much fun for the whole family. The mermaids at Weeki Wachee put on such a great show!

Weeki Wachee Springs, Florida has real mermaids! There just isn’t more to say. It has been entertaining tourists for over 70 years, and the underwater theater is completely impressive technology considering when it was built.
